Investment update

We offer two investment options in the PSS, and you can keep an eye on how each option is performing by checking out our monthly update.

Remember that super is a long-term investment, so think about the big picture and which investment option best suits your needs.

Cooper review into super

In May 2009, the government announced the Super System Review, chaired by Jeremy Cooper, to review the governance, efficiency, structure and operation of Australia’s super system.

The Cooper review has recommended two key reforms, which aim to lower super fees and increase Australians retirement savings. These are:

  • › establishing a default fund known as MySuper, available to all employees
  • › creating SuperStream, to improve super fund office procedures by creating new data-quality standards, using members’ tax file numbers and improving technology for better efficiency.

The government is now considering these recommendations, and we’ll keep you updated in future editions of Aspire.

For more info, see the media release from the previous Minister for Financial Services, Superannuation & Corporate Law and Minister for Human Services, Chris Bowen.

We’ve made our investment options easier
