If you are a contributing member, your final benefit is largely unaffected by investment performance. Instead, your contribution rate will ultimately determine the size of your final PSS super benefit.
If you are a preserved benefit member, the taxed components of your benefit grow in line with scheme earnings which may be positive or negative. Your untaxed component will grow in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) which measures the inflation rate in prices of goods and services.
